March, 2013   //   by Chase Hasch

Jalama Beach Kiteboarding Quick Facts:

Wind: Best month are March, April & May.

Water: 5/4 or a good 4/3 Wet suit. Water stays cold even in the summer.

Spot: Remote Beach Park and Campground with strong sideshore winds. Best Wave-kiting in So-Cal.

Vibe: Due to its remote location it does never get crazy busy.

Tips: You might as well bring your tent or camper and stay overnight. Jalama is 14 miles off Hwy1 near Lompoc.
There is no cell phone reception or Internet at Jalama. A pay phone is your only contact to the outside world.

Food: Bring your own. A small general store (which also makes great Burgers) has everything in case you run out of essentials such as Water, Bread, Milk etc.
