Houston | Galveston Kitesession

April, 2013   //   by Chase Hasch

We arrive in Galveston by late afternoon. I was really surprised at how big Galveston Island is. The wind seemed good as we were heading to the State Park where we planned on spending the night and which is located right on the water on both the sound and the ocean.

Sadly as soon as we arrived at our camp site the wind had nearly totally died. The next day my dad found some awesome houses on the water and I kited in front of them for a unique picture. The wind was super light but I was able to do a few low jumps.

Clouds and fog moved in shortly afterwards (in California they call it “Marine layer” or “June Gloom” not sure what they call it here) so we decided to pack up and head on east to Louisiana, Mississipi and Alabama.
